Operated from 1878 onwards as a trading center for the Navajo people who returned to live in their ancestral homeland, the Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site is now the oldest continually operating center of its type. Visitors can explore models of different traditional Native American crafts, including authentic Navajo rug designs, silver jewelry, sand paintings and pottery pieces. It is located in the small town of Ganado, about half a mile west of the intersection of Highways 264 and 191.
Open daily May - mid-Sep: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; mid-Sep - Apr: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Guided tours: Adults $2; Children 16 and under are free.
